Hunting Seasons & Styles

September

Archery Hunts

Spot-and-stalk velvet bucks in the early fall. Excellent opportunities to close in on lone deer with a bow.

November

Rifle & Muzzleloader Hunts

Cooler weather, possible snow in the north. Long days of glassing ridges and hiking to cut distance.

  • Muzzleloader shots: 1–250 yards
  • Rifle shots: 100–700 yards
January

Archery Hunts

Northern hunts may catch the tail end of the rut, while southern hunts hit peak rut activity. Bucks are distracted, does are alert—making for thrilling encounters with mature deer.
